I love Helvetica. No, really. I really love Helvetica and all of the other traits of Swiss minimalist design. I normally go for very simplistic logos – not because there’s anything unattractive or wrong with a complicated one, but the simplest ones are the most effective and memorable. I’d struggle to think of many particularly successful brands who have had a complicated logo. “The logo must include a sapphire and be related to dancing”, the client asks. Sometimes little requests like this can be difficult to meet while still creating an efficient logo. I did a few pretty cool designs where the dancer appears to be ‘interacting’ with the sapphire, i.e. dancing on top of it, lying on it, etc. but ultimately the client chose this one. ^ I particularly liked this...
