I normally go for very simplistic logos – not because there’s anything unattractive or wrong with a complicated one, but the simplest ones are the most effective and memorable. I’d struggle to think of many particularly successful brands who have had a complicated logo. I supplied this client with a few ideas but they had their heart set on having a character as their logo, and I never turn down the opportunity to get the pencils out and do a bit of drawing. London Calling sell make-up, but to a more alternative demographic, a little bit “camden market”. Sketch after the cut.
