I was thrilled to have this job come in. I love Nando’s and Peri-Peri chicken, and I love designing for catering and food production businesses. I always feel I’m on the right track when the logo starts giving me a craving for the food it’s advertising. The client asked for the logo to contain references to chilli and chicken, and to project an image of being more healthy than most hot foods. The chilli with little wings worked well and the chalky texture of the drawing on a white background gives it a healthy and light feel.

I love Helvetica. No, really. I really love Helvetica and all of the other traits of Swiss minimalist design.
The problem I have with Helvetica is the fact that there are designers out there who consider receiving the copy from the client, setting the type in Helvetica and sending it back a full Graphic Design job. It disturbs me to think that some designers get paid thousands to set some headings in Helvetica and not do a whole lot else with it.
Stiletto Events organise social shopping events for women. I am pleased because I finally got to use Andes in a logo, an Art Deco typeface I’ve always loved, as well as electric pink on white, which always is striking.
